Skybus is a new airline based in Columbus , Ohio that promises to sell 10 seats on each of its flights for $10. Including Burbank Los Angeles and Bellingham, Washington, the carrier flies to 11 airports around the country. You’ll have to pay taxes and fees so, your total flight cost is around $16. Don’t expect free food and beverages, you’ll have to pay for that too. Checking luggage charges are $5 per piece for the first two and $50 for the third bag. Only online booking facility is available and no bookings are done over the phone.

Spirit Airlines, a low-fare carrier, recently introduced a special program called the $9 Fare Club. Membership costs $9 for a three-month trial and $30 per year thereafter. Special deals are e-mailed to the members once in six weeks. The very best deals tend to be offered on midweek, off-peak flights, rarely with last-minute departures.
